But there quite a few celebrities we were shocked to find out had starred in nude scenes such as Sylvester Stallone, Reese Witherspoon, and “How I Met Your Mother” star Jason Segel.
Let’s take a peek at a few celebrities you might not have caught stripped down in television or film:
Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway, who admits she lacks the “sexy factor”, bared her breasts in the film “Love & Other Drugs”. She also went topless for the crime drama film “Havoc” in 2005.
Halle Berry
Oscar-winning actress stripped down in the film “Swordfish”, showing off her killer body.
She said of the topless scene, “It wasn’t a love scene. I could sit there by myself. No one was touching me. I was kind of just perched up there and it was all of three seconds and it was done. That, for me, felt like a better introduction than a steamy love scene.”
Christina Ricci
Christina Ricci had no problem with showing off her body in the movie “Black Snake Moan”.
Christina just stayed nude most of the time, saying, “I stayed the way I would be for the scene all the time – in order to get the crew really used to seeing me that way so that I was comfortable. Not only was I comfortable, but I would look at anybody’s face and not see them uncomfortable. Because if someone else is uncomfortable, it makes you feel like you’re doing something wrong.”
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried not only went nude but got down with another woman (Julianne Moore) in the movie “Chloe”.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon, who is known for playing cutesy country-girl roles, went topless in the thriller “Twilight” in 1998. The actress later decided not to go nude after becoming a mother.
She said, “I’ve always been choosing roles knowing that I have a daughter and I have a responsibility to her and to the world to be representing women of strength.”
Noami Watts
Naomi Watts felt extremely uncomfortable filming “Mulholland Drive”, stating she “fell to pieces”.
Watts admits, “The masturbation scene was incredibly difficult, and was absolutely mortifying and humiliating;” she says of her shocking performance. It’s just a very difficult thing to do.”
Eva Mendes
Ryan Gosling’s girlfriend, Eva Mendes, had no issue with getting naked for her role in the film “Training Day” or “We Own the Night”.
Mendes said, “I’ve never had a problem with nudity. But I don’t put it out there without a reason. I’m not an exhibitionist. But, honestly, for my art I’ll do anything almost. I’ll go there.”
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron will strip down for roles, but the Oscar-winning star only goes naked if it is needed to play the character well.
The actress, who starred in “2 Days in the Valley” nude, said, “I don’t think about it as nudity. I think about it as, ‘Is this the right thing for the character? Is this the right choice?’”
Sylvester Stallone
“Rocky” and “Rambo” star Sylvester Stallone went more than just nude! The action star starred in a porno called “The Italian Stallion”! Stallone was paid $200 for two days work.
Michelle Williams, Jennifer Podemski and Sarah Silverman
These ladies teamed up in the film “Take This Waltz” with a shocking nude shower scene that got quite “hairy”. Sorry, couldn’t resist!
Seth Rogen
Seth Rogen starred in the comedy “Zach and Miri Make a Porno” where he was nude. But, he also was butt-naked in “Knocked Up” with Katherine Heigl.
Seth said of his nude scenes, “I was fine with it. I was ready for anything. I have no shame about it. It’s fine. If it’s funny, yeah, I will probably do it. If I genuinely think it’s funny, there is a good chance I’ll do it”.
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Jake Gyllenhaal’s sister doesn’t mind taking it all off in her career. She starred in the dark comedy “Secretary” opposite James Spader in 2002.
The actress said, “”[Nudity] doesn’t freak me out that much. The thing that is a little strange for me about nudity is when it’s taken out of context… For instance, there’s one photograph of me that for some reason got out, it’s not naked but I’m like in a bathtub in ‘Secretary’, and you don’t see any of my body but I feel very exposed and I won’t sign that picture, whereas in the movie being totally naked I feel comfortable.”
Rosario Dawson
Rosario Dawson played the role of Roxanne in the Oliver Stone film “Alexander”. She starred alongside Colin Farrell and said stripping down wasn’t too hard with her hot star.
She jokingly said, “It’s too bad Colin is so ugly and just so uncoordinated and lacks any kind of talent and thrashed me off the bed. It was awful.”
Jason Segel
Jason Segel went full-frontal nude in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”, when Kristen Bell broke up him when he was completely nude.
You had to cringe a bit as Segel stood there totally bare as his girlfriend broke his heart in the movie.
